I bought this a few weeks ago for mixing small items - love the flex edge beater and glass bowl. I still use my mother's large one ( almost 50 years old) when I want to double recipes.

This mixer is beautiful! The candy apple red is my favorite color of red, the size is just right for the 2 of us and the glass bowl is awesome. I do wish they would come out with a cover for the 3.5qt glass bowl.

I am very happy with the mini stand mixer. It is plenty big for the recipes I use. I also have the larger one but prefer this size, it doesn't take up quite as much counter space. I love the red color as well.

Easy to use and does a complete job. Only thing I would change is the heaviness of the mixer, would like it a little lighter.l

Smaller, powerful and functional standing Mini

Artisan Mini design series Mixer is Ideal for small places and keeping it on counter top for daily use. The tilt head feature makes it convenient to add ingredients to the mixing bowl. glass bowl. The glass bowl makes it easy to see how well the dough is mixed. The flex edge beater scraps the sides and speeds but the mixing process. It is lighter weight, takes up less space and performs as well as my professional 550HD stand mixer. The red color complemented very well with my kitchen counter and backsplash. Kudos to the design team in coming up with the right size, weight and still retain the performance that one would expect in a standing mixer. The banana walnut bread turned out as good as I get done using the professional mixer. Mixed dough for Naan and roti and should say I was impressed with the performance but did note it struggled when dough is thicker and heavier. I would definitely recommend this for any one looking for a standing mixer for its design, performance and ease of use.

Perfect little mixer. Small enough to be stored on the counter for daily use. I also have the larger artisan mixer which I love but after down
Sizing my home I don't have as much counter space to leave the larger one out ( I will never get rid of it) so this is perfect. I can also use my attachments from the larger mixer on this. I used the pasta attachment last night with the same results.
Everything seems to work the same on some of my thicker doughs the larger mixer works better but I think it must have something to do with the size of the beater and dough hook, but it still worked. I would highly recommend it and probably wouldn't know the difference if I hadn't been using the larger mixer for 50 + years. Loved the red color too. I gave away my hand mixer no need for one now and can use the mini for even the smallest jobs and don't have to stand and hold the mixer which I always hated. Perfect

I received this as a test of this mixer. It is smaller than the 5 Qt. I currently have and therefore easier to use for small jobs. Their or just tow of us in our home and this allows me to mix small batches much easier than having to get out the large mixer.
It is a powerful and very handy kitchen appliance. I highly recommend.
I was very pleased to see that it will handle optional attachments which I already have for my larger mixer.

I really liked the smaller size of this mixer, it performed just as well as my 6 qt mixer. I wish that the bowl was a little wider to give more room to add the ingredients - the space was a little tight if you didn't lift the mixer. Love the glass bowl which can go in the microwave to soften the butter.

I absolutely love this mixer. It is lighter weight, takes up less space and performs as well as my Artisan 6 qt. mixer. I love the glass bowl which can go into the microwave to soften butter and it's easy to see how well the batter is mixed. The red color is beautiful--a more glossy red which is my kitchen accent color. The attachment hub is the same size on both mixers. It is not only beautiful, but functional and practical. Kudos to whoever designed this size!

Great Mixer for smaller batches
Michelle5142

This is a great mixer for anyone who needs to make things in smaller batches and/or has limited space. I've made everything from cookies, to brownies, to scones with this machine, and it performed very nicely, however it seemed to struggle a bit when I was making a stiffer dough...it is a workhorse, but the stiffer the dough the more it strains/shakes. I honestly think that this may be because the attachments are smaller, it is harder them to cut through the dough. I noticed this when I made the first batch of cookies (the butter was room temp) and the scones (the butter was cold). When I made the brownies and the second batch of cookies, the butter was softened in the microwave and was considerably softer, so it was easier for the attachments to get through the batter. I prefer to use butter that has not been softened in the microwave because I believe that it gives me a better dough to bake with....I would need to refrigerate a dough before putting it in the oven so that I get cookies/any baked good that did not completely flatten out in the oven. I did whip up some egg whites, which went fairly well, but it did seem to take longer for me to achieve soft peaks. However once this was achieved, it did seem to be pretty stable. I did not try to make bread however, based on the problems the machine had with the scone dough, which is considerably easier to make than bread dough.
It was difficult for me to use the power knob, but I really liked the tilt head design, as well as the clear glass bowl.

We downsized for retirement. I gave my big kitchenaid to my daughter. I bought the mini and am thrilled with how much it is like having my larger model. It tucks away under the cabinet. I use it more because it is close by and ready to go.
